These terms cover anyone using the Siding Replacement Lewiston website to read about siding or send us an estimate request from around Lewiston and Auburn. Siding work we take on is covered by its own signed contract, which nothing in these terms alters.

Prices on the site are planning averages, not quotes, and asking for an estimate is free and binding on no one. Under Maine law, home construction work over $3,000 needs a written contract signed by both sides, with the first down payment capped at one third of the price.

Effective October 20, 2026. Last updated October 20, 2026.

Using this website means you accept these terms. Any siding work we do for you runs under its own signed contract, and this page does not change that contract.

Who We Are

Siding Replacement Lewiston replaces and repairs siding on existing houses in the Lewiston-Auburn area, working from an office in Lewiston, Maine. Throughout these terms, Siding Replacement Lewiston is "we", "us" or "our", and anyone using the site is "you".

Who May Use This Site

This website is for people 18 and older. Using it confirms that you meet that age.

Acceptable Use

The site is here for reading about siding and for describing your house to us. Please send only true details and your own contact information, and make no attempt to break or overload the site.

Prices Shown on This Site

The siding prices printed here, both the per-square ranges for vinyl, LP SmartSide, James Hardie fiber cement and cedar shingles and the ranges by house size, are averages drawn from many quotes. They are published as a budgeting aid, so treat none of them as an offer or a quote for your house.

What your own job costs depends on the walls themselves: soft sheathing or failed flashing behind the old siding, how tall each wall runs and how much trim it carries. No repair price is published here, since a repair is priced only after someone has seen it.

Free Estimates

Asking us for an estimate costs nothing and commits neither side. Only when an estimate is folded into a written contract signed by both of us does it bind anyone.

We may turn down a request, for example a house outside the towns we serve, or work outside our trade such as a roof, windows, gutters, a deck or a new house.

Written Contracts and Down Payments

Under 10 MRSA ยง1487, a home construction contract for more than $3,000 in materials or labor must be in writing and signed by you and by us. Each of us gets a copy before any work begins, and the first down payment is limited to one third of the total contract price.

Your job's scope, materials, price and payment schedule are set by that signed contract, never by this website. The same law has the contract state that any change moving its price takes a written change order, and that is how rot or damaged sheathing found once a wall is open gets added.

No Warranty From This Website

This website offers no warranty or guarantee on any page. Warranty terms for your job come from two places only: your signed contract and the product maker's own published warranty.

Trademarks

James Hardie and HardiePlank are registered trademarks of James Hardie Technology Limited, and LP and SmartSide are registered trademarks of Louisiana-Pacific Corporation. We install those products as an independent company, with no affiliation to, endorsement by or authorization from either maker.

Contractor Licensing in Maine

Maine issues no license to general contractors or to siding contractors, so we have no state contractor license to show you. The state's safeguard on a job over $3,000 is the written contract it requires both sides to sign.

Permits and Town Review

The call on a permit for re-siding, and on whether to issue it, rests with each town. A local historic district, such as those in downtown Lewiston, or a shoreland zone can add a review of its own.

We file the application where one is needed, and the town alone decides, so approval is never ours to promise.

Timing and Schedules

Maine's contract law has the contract list an estimated start date and an estimated date when the work will be substantially done. The same law lets those dates move when something outside the contractor's control, such as a site that is not ready or materials that are not available, gets in the way.

Snow, rain, permit reviews and whatever turns up behind the old siding can shift a schedule too. Nothing on this website promises a start date or a finish date.

General Information Only

The site's material on siding types, flashing, lead paint, cement-asbestos shingles, town rules and prices is general information. Plan with it if you like, but it is not engineering or legal advice, and it cannot stand in for someone looking at your walls.

Houses built before 1978 may carry lead paint, and the federal lead-safe renovation rule governs work that disturbs it.

Text Message Terms

This section applies after you agree, through one of our forms, to get texts from us.

  • What we send: texts about your estimate request and, if you hire us, the job itself.
  • Rates and frequency: message and data rates may apply, and how many texts you get depends on the project.
  • Stopping and help: text STOP to end our messages or HELP for help, and one text confirms a STOP.

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Nothing you buy from us depends on agreeing to our calls and texts, since that consent is not a condition of any purchase.

How we handle your number and your consent is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Content Ownership

Copyright may protect the text and photos on this website. Reusing any of it anywhere else needs our go-ahead first.

Links on some pages lead to outside sources, among them Lewiston's city offices, the Maine Legislature's statutes and the EPA. We do not control those sites, and each owner answers for its own content.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent Maine law allows, Siding Replacement Lewiston bears no liability for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of this website or reliance on its general information. Work performed under a signed contract falls under that contract instead of this limit.

Changes to These Terms

These terms can be revised at any time, and the copy posted here is the current one. Continuing to use the site after a revision means you accept the revised terms.

Governing Law

Maine law governs these terms. A dispute about this website is to be heard in a state or federal court located in Maine.
